John Muir Trail - Sierra Nevada - California

Page One

During the late summer of 2010, I backpacked the John Muir Trail, which starts in Yosemite Valley and ends 220 miles to the south on the summit of Mt. Whitney. The trail winds its way through the wonderous high country of the Sierra Nevada, through three National Parks - Yosemite and Sequoia and Kings Canyon - and through two Wilderness Areas - the John Muir
and the Ansel Adams. Twenty four days of walking with two easy resupply points,
and the mind gets a chance to be quiet and to be in and of the world.
The photographs in this collection are arranged roughly in the direction I traveled, from north to south.
